CAFOD’s newly appointed director, Christine Allen, met up with Bishop Peter to introduce herself and to share ideas and thoughts about CAFOD’s vision and work in the diocese and beyond. Deborah Purfield, CAFOD’s coordinator for the diocese was also present and said, “It was a really lovely and useful meeting. Bishop Peter was very grateful for CAFOD’s presence in the diocese and thanked us for all we had done to promote Justice and Peace. We are very appreciative for all his wonderful support and encouragement.”
Bishop Peter Doyle meets CAFOD’s director Christine Allen
“It was a real pleasure to meet Bishop Peter and to be able to thank him personally for all the support he has given to CAFOD in the diocese.”
Both Bishop Peter and Christine have offered to attend the next Lent Supporters’ day so do make a note of it in your diary and come along! It will be a really wonderful occasion for us to thank Bishop Peter before we get a new Bishop and to hear first-hand from Christine.

Share the Journey, the new global campaign launched by Pope Francis to stand up for the rights of people on the move is in full swing. CAFOD invites us to join together in walking around the world.
On 10th June we will walk in solidarity with our global neighbours fleeing their homes. We will be walking around the reservoir at Sywell Country Park – a distance of 2.5miles. The miles we walk will be added to the total from across England and Wales. Please join us if you can.
The circular walk is fairly easy but not suitable for wheelchairs. If you are bringing a child’s buggy and find the terrain tricky you may prefer to walk a shorter distance and turn back at the point where the footpath ends.
Register and begin the walk in the lower car park between 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm. Please park carefully. Car parking charges are £3 for up to four hours (£5 for all day). There are toilets and a café in this car park.
