The CAFOD group at Holy Redeemer have long put on events to raise money for CAFOD’s work. This year they held a sponsored walk at Black Park in Slough. Eileen (CAFOD parish volunteer) writes:-
“There was an option, i.e. either to walk the full perimeter of the park being 4 miles or a shorter walk around the lake of 1 mile – which of course for some is enough!! There was a good turn out which was wonderful in terms of community building and we were just flabbergasted to see how generous people were. We had some great sponsorship/donations which amounted to over £2900! What was even more heartening was the fact that we did this fundraising as a joint effort with St Ethelbert Primary school (next door to the parish). The school held a mufti day and raised a fabulous £760.
After much thought and discussion, it was felt that we, as a community, would like half the money to go towards the Ethiopian Crisis and the other half for water development projects.”
Massive thanks and congrats to Holy Redeemer and St Ethelbert for raising over £3680! A truly fabulous amount! Your support will be helping our brothers and sisters most in need.
