On the morning of Saturday 3 September a group of parishioners from Our Lady and St. Joseph’s hosted a table-top bric-a-brac sale in Kempston, Bedfordshire, in order to raise funds for CAFOD.
The sale was organised by Dinah Keane and it proved a great success in raising over £270. The sale consisted of eight varied tables as well as a refreshments table serving tea, coffee and cake.
It was wonderful to see the generosity of both parishioners and passers-by in raising money towards CAFOD’s vital work. Several parishioners who were not able to attend kindly sent donations to the sale.
The sale marked the final fundraising event hosted by Our Lady and St. Joseph’s for CAFOD in 2016. We look forward to working with them once again in 2017.
Our sincere thanks go out to Dinah Keane for all of her efforts in organising this and other fundraising events in her community this year. Parishioners from Our Lady and St. Joseph’s in Kemspton and Bedford have raised and donated over £3,000 for CAFOD so far this year.
CAFOD Co-ordinator, Deborah Purfield praised the community’s efforts: “We are very grateful for the efforts of local people from Our Lady and St. Joseph’s. Their generosity makes our work possible. Without people like them, we would not be able to fund our transformative global projects.”
