Lent has seen the Bakers of Bedford get busy as bake sales have been held all over the area to raise money for Lent.
Last week, we highlighted the young bakers at St John Rigby who raised over £85 for the Lent Appeal. Now Parishioners at Christ the King have been joining in the fun by holding a bake sale of their own.
On Sunday 13 March, the parishioners at Christ the King held a bake sale after mass to raise funds for CAFOD and our Lent appeal.

Catriona, a parishioner at Christ the King said:
“Today we had a cake sale and made over £95, thanks to the great bakers and helpers.”
The cakes were brightly decorated and sold incredibly well on a sunny day – it was a very successful sale.
This year, as the Lent appeal has been backed by the Government’s Match Funding; it means that the £95 raised from the bake sale will be doubled meaning the parish have raised nearly £200 to provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene programmes to over 300,000 people in Uganda, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
