On the 15 November CAFOD Northampton celebrated our memorial mass at Our Lady of Peace in Burnham. We remembered the many loyal and generous friends of CAFOD no longer with us but who have been at the heart of our work over the years. Their prayers, donations, volunteering and campaigning have helped change and save lives all around the world.
Fr Andy said he felt so honoured to say the mass and really made it so meaningful. Maura Potter, whose husband Basil was a keen CAFOD supporter for many years, brought up the book of remembrance and her grand daughter brought up the Romero cross to place at the altar. CAFOD supporters and volunteers from other parishes also attended which was great!
Cath Palasz, the parish contact at Our Lady of Peace, said, “It’s really special for the community who have supported CAFOD so diligently for many years”.
At CAFOD we often speak to families who have chosen to support our work in memory of a relative or a friend. By making such a special gift, families, colleagues or friends feel they are remembering their loved one in a positive, far-reaching and life-changing way.
Mass is said each week for CAFOD supporters, past and present, so please know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
