During Lent, St Edward’s Catholic Junior School in Aylesbury raised £1346 for CAFOD.
“We wanted to make full use of the matched funding for Lent and the children went all out to support the Lenten appeal” says Mrs Suzanne Kennedy (RE Co-ordinator). They had Mufti Fridays, which they enjoyed and held an Easter egg raffle which did very well.
What was particularly exciting and innovative was the Playground Penny Challenge. The aim was to have all the lines in the playground covered with pennies. Did they manage it? “Well not quite” adds Mrs Kennedy “but let’s start saving pennies for next year……” .
What fabulous effort from the students and teachers of St Edwards Junior. What an inspiration! Well done to all.
