Pupils from St Mary’s Kings Heath visit Peru

Frank Sudlow visited the Reception class at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Northampton to share pictures and stories of Peru.

Using a Hunger Cloth depicting scenes from Peru he told them how potatoes were first developed by the Inca people long before they were  introduced into Europe.

He spoke about how the climate in Peru varies from the hot dry, yet foggy climate of the coast to the cool crisp atmosphere of the mountains and down to the tropical heat of the jungle and the Amazon basin.

The children were introduced to Frida, who lives in the mountains and to Christian who lives in the capital, Lima.  We compared our lives with theirs and found much which was the same, as well as lots that was different.
