St Dunstan’s Build a Virtual Village

Give It Up for CAFOD took on a new focus at St Dunstan’s this year when the CAFOD Group challenged the parish to use their Lenten gifts to launch a project to build a virtual village.

“Already the Virtual Village project is going really well.  We have a water supply, one and a half rice banks, a bicycle, two vegetable gardens and a football.  We are also teaching children to read and training a farmer and are working towards training a vet and a health worker too!

“The team have reminded everyone that the farmer and the vet will need some animals soon – we don’t want them to be unemployed!” says Suzannah on behalf of the CAFOD Group.

“As well as the bigger items from the World Gifts  list, there are smaller individual items that parishioners have been purchasing individually.  They were very popular for Mother’s Day, so we’re hoping that they will be popular at Easter too.   We have also been selling virtual eggs for an Easter Draw; they are very popular and are almost sold out.”
