The parishioners of St Theresa and SS John Fisher and Thomas More in Beaconsfield invited me down to speak with them about CAFOD’s work. Marking CAFOD’s Fast Day and the end of Fairtrade Fortnight, they held a cake sale with all cakes being made from fairly traded ingredients. The cakes sold very quickly, washed down with Fair Trade tea and coffee, with the proceeds going to CAFOD’s Fast Day appeal.
Parishioners from their sister parish of St Dunstan’s, Bourne End, were able to sample a few of the cakes too, as they left the Sunday mass. It was really good to meet with so many CAFOD supporters from the two parishes and to thank them for the great work they are doing.
