The Fairtrade Parishes of Northampton Diocese.
As the total of parishes committed to supporting Fairtrade reaches past the 40 mark, we soon hope to be reporting that the Diocese has achieved Fairtrade status too.
Already many towns in the Diocese have become Fairtrade towns, promising to promote Fairtrade through their local businesses and to use Fairtrade products at civic events.
Many of our parishes have helped in this effort and in turned been helped to see what they can do to become Fair Trade.
Meanwhile, dont forget Fairtrade Fortnight from 23 February to 8 March – full details are on the Fairtrade website.
However, if there is just one thing you do, please ensure you put a note in the parish bulletin, or display a poster to promote the Fortnight and encourage parishioners to buy Fairtrade products.
Promoting Fairtrade is the first and essential step towards becoming a Fairtrade parish
